Despues del P20 Huawei dejó de meter un sensor monocromo dedicado pero siguió dejando en manos de Leica la emulación de blanco y negro. En callejera siempre lo uso en ese modo monocromo, normalmente subexponiendo un paso. Despues en Snapseed le suelo dar contraste y algo de estructura.
Pero ya te digo que la clave debe ser la colaboración de Leica con Huawei, no debe ser solo cosa de poner el nombre:

Even though the dedicated monochrome lens was dropped starting with Mate 20 series, a monochrome filter was introduced in the submenu. The filter is tuned by Leica to achieve less difference compared to the dedicated one.
Access Monochrome Mode
1. Open Camera App
2. From Photo mode, swipe down (landscape orientation) or swipe to left (portrait orientation) to access More
3. Tap Monochrome icon in the upper corner
4. Choose from four monochrome modes, Normal, Aperture, Portrait and Pro
